Description: |
- Each closed circuit Multi-tank holding REBF system contains 40 holding tanks (thirty 2.8 liter tanks and ten 9 liter tanks). Simple to install by client;
- On multi-tank unit operate from 0 to 15 PSU and the other operate from 15 to 25 PSU. All components are made of Fibreglass, thermoplastic and PVC ;
- Rearing tanks have a total volume of approximately 180 L per stand. Tanks are in polycarbonate. These self-cleaning tanks come with lids and baffle. For each unit, thirty 2.8 liter tanks and ten 9.0 liter tanks come with a baffle screen ;
- Tanks are located on 1 six-decked stand (2.44 m H x 1.52 m L x 0.46m W), 5 tanks per shelf. The top shelf is used for the head tank. Lowest tank shelf is 50 cm from floor. Stand is made of high-strength fibreglass beams and plastic;
- Tank outlet and drainage pipes are incorporated into the flow system and sized to accommodate a maximum flow rate per tank of 233 ml/min (2.8L tank) or 750 ml/min (9L tank) for a maximum of 5 water exchanges/hour per tank;
- Water inlet pipes and ball valves allow for constant and stable flow to Multi-tank;
- System can be dismantled for the cleaning of all waterways;
- This system is to be linked to the client’s central freshwater delivery system; – A peristaltic pump provides an automatic water make-up;
- The magnetic drive pump is very efficient, extremely quiet and transfer minimal motor heat to air;
- A trickling biofilter, pre activated with nitrifying bacteria, removes toxic ammonia and acts as a degassing column to prevent CO2 accumulation in water ;
- The heating provides temperature control and manipulation on the Multi-tank;
- This tanks system will be mounted and fully tested for required performance at our plant before shipment;
- Four-stages filtration process:
– Pre filtration on large mesh pad
- 50 and 20 microns disposable polypropylene filters;
- Activated carbon filter
- Trickling biofilter for ammonia control
- Degassing and aeration through trickling biofilter

Université Laval – Tide Simulator
These Multi-tank systems is custom-adapted to simulate the gradual fluctuations in salinity associated with the tides. An Enviro- Monitron control a peristaltic pump (Tide pump) and add water (fresh or saltwater) for changing the water salinity in the water recycling through the fish tanks, simulating a typical sinusoidal curve associated with the tides. In parallel, a water-tight light fixture set over each row of thanks simulate dawn and dusk, as light intensity with gradually be turned on an off (controlled by the Monitron).
The water temperature in each system is chilled down to approximately 15°C. The chilling system will be similar to that of the Arctik Model. The chilling capacity is used to chill the both the water within the rearing tanks, and the seawater/freshwater pumped within the unit via the Tide pump.
