Purpose: |
Major expansion of storage capacity due to expanding membership and growing lobster catches. |
Context: |
The cooperative has been operating Aquabiotech Eco-Lobster Condo shower and pool hybrid systems since 2015, these systems were retrofitted to their pre-existing lobster pounds. The original upgrade allowed the coop to expand storage by 265k lbs., beyond increasing the coop’s holding capacity the improvements allowed them to manage the water temperatures such as to reduce lobster stress, lengthen storage times when needed and nearly eliminate lobster mortality. Very satisfied with the results of the upgrades they have turned to Aquabiotech for the addition of two new pounds. |
